This Champagne Cocktail with homemade pear syrup is a harmonious combination of pear, thyme, and champagne. A sparkling champagne cocktail that is perfect to toast any special occasion such as birthdays, brunches or New Year’s Eve.
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Champagne
- 1 pear | for garnish
- a few sprigs of thyme
- 100 g pears | cut into cubes
- 100 g sugar
- 100 ml water
How to make Champagne Cocktail with Pear & Thyme:
(1) Pear Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, bring the 100 g cubed pears, 100 g sugar and 100 ml water to boil, stir to help the sugar dissolve. Once it comes to a boil, lower the heat to medium low and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the pears with a fine-mesh strainer and let the syrup cool.
(2) Champagne Cocktail with Pear & Thyme
Add 1 tablespoon of pear simple syrup to the bottom of a champagne flute and top with champagne. Roll the sprig of thyme in your hand to release the aromas, add to the glass and garnish with some thinly sliced fresh pear.
