Stracciatella Chocolate Sprinkles Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 4 drops almond extract (optional)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 200 g cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 100 g chocolate sprinkles
  • 100 g dark chocolate, for decoration

Directions:

1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, milk, almond extract, and cold butter in small pieces. Mix everything with your hands or a hand mixer until it forms a firm dough. Finally, knead the chocolate sprinkles evenly into the dough.

2. Chill the dough: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

3. Cut out and bake: Roll the dough on a floured surface to about 5 mm thick. Cut out shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 160°C (320°F) with fan for 10–11 minutes.

4. Decorate and store: Let the cookies cool, decorate with dark chocolate, and store in a cookie jar.

Some Recipe Tips:

Use cold butter: Make sure the butter is cold to achieve the perfect dough consistency. If the butter is too soft, the dough might become too sticky.

Chocolate sprinkles: Use baking-friendly chocolate sprinkles that won’t melt during baking, to get the best texture and flavor.

Resting the dough: Be sure to let the dough rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour. This will firm up the dough, making it easier to roll out.
