Homemade Vanilla Bean Paste

Ingredients:
  • 150 g water
  • 150 g sugar
  • 5 vanilla beans

Directions:

1. Prepare the vanilla beans: Cut the vanilla beans into small pieces and trim the hard ends if necessary.

2. Heat sugar and water: In a saucepan, heat water and sugar over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.

3. Add vanilla and simmer: Add the prepared vanilla pieces to the sugar syrup, stir, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Blend for a smooth consistency: Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes, then blend it in a blender or food processor until smooth.

5. Cool and store: Pour into a sterilized, airtight container and store in the refrigerator. The vanilla bean paste will keep for about 6 months in the fridge.
