Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

A grilled cheese sandwich is the ultimate comfort food! This quick and easy recipe gives you a perfectly golden, crispy sandwich filled with gooey melted cheese. Perfect for a cozy lunch, as a side or snack!

Ingredients:
  • 2 slices of wheat bread
  • 80 g of shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella or your favorite)
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter
Directions:

(1) Butter the bread:

Butter both sides of each slice of bread.

(2) Make the Grilled Cheese:

Heat a pan over medium heat. Place both slices of bread in the pan and lightly toast each side until just golden, about 1 minute per side. This will help to melt the cheese more evenly.

Without removing the bread from the pan, add the shredded cheese to one slice.

Place the second slice of bread on top and cook the sandwich for 2–3 minutes on each side, until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted.

(3) Enjoy:

Remove from the pan, slice, and enjoy your delicious classic grilled cheese!

Use room-temperature butter: Soft butter spreads more evenly on the bread, which helps with even browning.
